Double Good News Club®s, Double Children

In the next 5 years I would love for the CEF® NEAL Chapter to more than double their Good News Club®s, their 5-Day Club®s, and the number of children and families coming to Christ and getting involved in local churches.

Our area of ministry includes Jackson, DeKalb, Marshall, Madison, and Etowah counties, with the cities of Huntsville, Madison, Gadsden, Guntersville, Fort Payne, Gurley, Triana, Union Grove, and more. CEF® has already established clubs in 14 schools, not to mention their many 5-Day Club®s and summer programs.

Out of a potential 44 schools they are in 1/3 of the schools. During this school year they have had 488 students studying the Bible and hearing the gospel through 115 workers and have seen 28 children make professions of faith in this school year alone.

One of the burdens and prayer goals that God has placed on my own heart is to be involved with thousands of people coming to Christ, growing in Christ, and becoming a part of Gospel- centered churches. It has been my gracious privilege through Child Evangelism Fellowship® to see at least 75 children make professions of faith while working in three Good News Club®s in the Central Alabama chapter of CEF®. It is my prayer and desire to see that grow and increase dramatically here in Northeast Alabama if the Lord allows.

Not only do I want to obey Christ’s command to go into all the world and make disciples, I want to help churches and individuals do the same. To fulfill Christ’s great commissions, we need the power of the gospel and the Holy Spirit working in and through us. And very pointedly, we need prayer, people and, provisions.

First, we need prayer.

  • We need prayer for Holy Spirit boldness to proclaim the gospel. (Acts 4:33, Ephesians 6:19)

  • We need God’s wisdom and direction. (Proverbs 13:14)

  • We need to pray for open doors and receptivity to the gospel. (Colossians 4:3-4)

  • Pray for gospel fruitfulness. (John 15:8, 16)

  • Pray for laborers to enter the harvest. (Matthew 9:37-38)

Second, we need people.

  • We need leaders from the churches, schools, and communities to join us in this work. (Revelation 9:7-10)

  • We need leaders for the committee, the clubs, and the churches. (Matthew 9:37-38)

  • We need people who care for the children and their families. (Luke 19:13-14)

  • We need families and people to unite them to the local churches. (Acts 2:37-41, Isaiah 40:11)

Third, we need provisions.

  • We need individuals, churches, and business to give their time, talents, and treasures. (Ephesians 4:11-13)

  • We need support for staff, offices, and supplies. (Matthew 6:11)

  • We need support to assist the smaller clubs to increase their resources and their effectiveness. (Acts 2:45)

  • We need resources to raise up new workers, train new workers, and promote the work. (Matthew 9:37-38)

To meet these needs, we are praying for the Lord to help us raise at least $50,000 a year to continue to build up the work in Huntsville and the surrounding counties. I am eager to work with the evangelical churches who are not currently participating in this vital service for Christ. These funds should help cover our staff, office needs, and materials for support and promotion.

Anticipating God’s work,

Jim Simoneau
