New Calling, New Coordinator

Recently God began re-focusing our calling in ministry. His work truly goes back to my early days when I came to Christ through a ministry called Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF®). A young college girl from Columbia Bible College led a Good News Club® for elementary students after school in Columbia, SC. It was there, by God’s grace, that I came to know Christ as my Savior. Through my parents’ prayers and a godly church and leaders I grew even more to know and follow the Lord Jesus.

In my junior high and high school years I served the Lord through home mission trips to poorer areas in Haysi, Virginia that especially helped to mold my vision for ministry. Through these opportunities as well as camps sponsored by our church we learned to share the good news of Jesus Christ and His salvation and saw many children come to Christ.

The past 38 years I served as senior pastor of four Presbyterian churches in South Carolina and Alabama. God continued to give us a burden for children and families and we participated and led mission trips in local communities and around the world.

Now God has called me back to the ministry which started it all. On June 1, I began to serve as Coordinator for Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF®) in Northeast Alabama (NEAL). In August we held three training sessions with 59 people. Our summer youth work reached out to 270 children with 10 professions of faith in Christ.

The motto of CEF® International if “Every Child, Every Nation, Every Day.” Our desire in Northeast Alabama is to reach “Every Child, in Every County, Every Day.” We are seeking partners to join us to try to get in every elementary school in the five counties the Lord has given us.

Since not many people know me personally in this area I am seeking support from family and friends in churches where I have served, even as I seek to make new contacts in our region. Please prayerfully consider how you might help us. Even gifts of $10, $25, or $50 a month would help us grow the ministry to children in Northeast Alabama. We need more resources to meet our giant goals!
