Praising, Praying, & Progressing

Dear Friends of CEF of North Alabama,

In The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, C.S. Lewis uses the lion named Aslan as a picture of Jesus Christ and the witch as a symbol for Satan and evil. The witch likes to keep everything cold and barren. Under her reign, everything is frozen, and there is no Christmas. But the prophecy in this book says that Aslan, the Christ-figure, will come. Before the children even see Aslan, the ice begins to melt, Christmas gifts come, and the creatures of Narnia recognize that Aslan is on the move. That means that the Christ-figure is bringing His kingdom into fulfillment!

In CEF of North Alabama, we see evidence that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is on the move! In May, we trained 5 teens for summer ministry, and God opened the door to teach the Bible to 275 students. Four of those students became forever followers of Jesus Christ! By God’s grace, this fall we helped churches start 4 Good News Clubs, then 5, and then 7. And by mid-November, we have 11 clubs actively teaching the saving grace of Jesus! We are working diligently to get back into our 36 clubs in the next year with a goal of 50 clubs by 2025.

The need is urgent! Studies show that families are going to church less frequently; some even show that 80% of children don’t go to church anywhere. CEF is doing everything possible to reach the children and to help the local churches see children come to Christ, join Bible-believing evangelical churches, and grow in Christ. CEF equips God’s people to reach the children in their community along with their families for Jesus Christ. To do this, we are pursuing partnerships with new churches, encouraging our present partners, and seeking new club locations everywhere God allows.

Help us raise $48,000 by the end of December 2021! This will give us the support we need to visit churches, make presentations, train workers, and support churches to make forever followers of Jesus Christ! We are working to mobilize evangelical, Bible-believing Christians to reach the 80,000 children in our 14 counties. Pray, Train, Go, and Give!

What Value can be placed on teaching a child the saving Grace of Jesus Christ? Please pray and ask the Lord what you can do to reach the children across North Alabama for Christ.
